Tony Argiz, CPA

2022

Antonio Argiz got to the top of the CPA profession by way of an improbable journey. He arrived in America at the age of 9, by way of Operation Pedro Pan—his parents sent him alone because of the indoctrination coming from Fidel Castro's regime. At age 11, he wrote to his congressman, pleading for help to bring his parents to the U.S. Three years later he was reunited with them.

Argiz had a baseball scholarship to Florida International University where he earned a degree in accounting. In 1977 he joined the firm at which he would rise to managing partner: Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra which, over four decades, he would lead to become one of the top 40 accounting firms in the nation. In 2022, it merged with BDO, the sixth largest CPA firm in the U.S., where Argiz he serves as South Florida Managing Principal. Along the way he became one of Miami’s most prestigious philanthropist.
