His career took off with a role at the Coca-Cola Co. and later at Renaissance Cruises, which he co-founded after its bankruptcy. His vision for cruising was to create a new segment known as upper premium with Oceania Cruises. His leadership also included the acquisition of Regent Seven Seas and the formation of Prestige Cruises, later sold to Norwegian. Now retired he is still very active in civic activities and philanthropy.
