Episcopal Bishop Anselmo Cabral
1985
Bishop Cabral studied in the U.S. before becoming Archdeacon of the Cuban provinces of Camagüey and Oriente. He worked diligently in efforts to get Cubans out of Cuba in 1960 and 1961. He would go on to become Episcopal Bishop of Guatemala and later Assistant Bishop of San Antonio, Texas. He chaired a commission that translated the Book of Common Prayer into Spanish and worked on the Spanish Hymnal.
