Alberto Ibargüen

Alberto Ibargüen is former President and CEO of the Knight Foundation. He previously served as the publisher of The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, leading them to win multiple Pulitzer Prizes. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and raised in New Jersey, he graduated from Wesleyan University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Ibargüen has served on various boards, including PBS and the World Wide Web Foundation, and has received numerous awards for his contributions to journalism and community service. Ibargüen has served on the boards of other arts, education and journalism organizations, including the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Wesleyan University, Smith College, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Committee to Protect Journalists, ProPublica and the Secretary of State's Foreign Policy Advisory Board.

Ibargüen is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has been honored with distinctions from diverse organizations, including American Jewish Committee, Stephens College and the Fairmount Park Conservancy
