Meet Jorge M. Pérez, the architect of Miami's iconic skyline. Born in Argentina to Cuban exiles, Pérez took his talents to Michigan, where he trained before immersing himself in Miami's economic development scene. He is more than a real estate mogul; he is a change agent. With his company, Related Companies, he initially focused on affordable housing projects and then became one of the world's leading developers of skyscrapers, often overseeing more than 50 projects simultaneously.

But his influence extends far beyond real estate. His philanthropic spirit is evident in his generous $30 million donation to the Pérez Art Museum Miami. Jorge M. Pérez is a man whose legacy transcends steel and concrete.

Jorge Pérez, Chairman and CEO of The Related Group has been at the forefront of South Florida’s complex urban evolution for over 40 years. He has assembled a dynamic selection of land parcels, new financing techniques, and a talented and strong management team and a pipeline of more than 100,000 residential units.

Best known to the public for his $40 million contribution to the Pérez Art Museum Miami, PAMM. Mr. Pérez was born in Buenos Aires to Cuban parents. He lived in Bogotá during his youth before relocating to Miami. In the U.S. he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and an urban planning master’s degree. In the 1970s he started developing public housing in underserved areas such as Little Havana.

He is active in the Miami International Film Festival and the National Young Arts Foundation. He has received numerous awards such as the Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year. TIME Magazine identified him as one of the nation's 25 most influential Hispanic individuals.
