Cuban-American Wifredo 'Wifi' Fernandez Promoted to X (Formerly Twitter) Public Policy Chief

Twitter has promoted Wifredo "Wifi" Fernández to its top U.S. government affairs and public policy role as the social media giant navigates various legal and regulatory challenges. Fernández, who briefly worked at Akerman law firm and graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, has climbed the ranks at Twitter to become a key player in its public policy team. The promotion comes amidst significant personnel changes at Twitter, which is now part of Elon Musk's X Corp. Fernández will focus on issues ranging from FTC battles to content moderation and data security according to the company's lobbying disclosure.


In addition to his role at Twitter, Fernández is known as an entrepreneur and co-founder of The LAB Miami, a technology incubation space. As Twitter undergoes a transformation under Musk's leadership, Fernández is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the company's government relations and public policy strategies.
