Ernesto Freyre (posthumous)

Ernesto Freyre, Sr. was a leading labor attorney in Cuba, representing major U.S. companies such as Hershey, Sears and Exxon. His son, Ernesto Freyre, Jr., took part in the 1961 Bay of Pigs Invasion. Freyre, Sr., was the Secretary of the Families Committee who went to Havana to negotiate terms for the release of Brigade 2506 prisoners which secured the aid of the U.S. Government and after a difficult and protracted negotiation process secured the release of all the prisoners in exchange for $62 mi. in medicines.
