Luisa María Güell earned a 2007 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tango Album (she has 23 songs). In 1969, won 1st prize at Malaga’s Festival of the International Song & in 1972, the Voice & Song Award with the theme Yo me enamoro de ti, in Puerto Rico. In 1979, she got the Interpretation Award in Paris & won the Edith Piaf Gold Medal as author & composer, the 1st  non-French artist to win it. She musicalized & interpreted José Martí’s La edad de oro, earning the In the Company of Women Award.
