Many people on the island of Puerto Rico are still striving to regain some "semblance of normalcy" over one year after Maria struck.

02 Oct Film Event: “After María: The Two Shores” on Thurs., Oct. 18th @ FIU

Mark your calendar and join us on Oct. 18th for the film screening of  After María: The Two Shores, followed by a discussion with Director Sonia Fritz.

After María: The Two Shores gives audiences an insight into the struggles of the brave people dealing with overwhelming challenges post-Hurricane Maria.  Many of these individuals face challenges similar to those faced by Hurricane Katrina survivors in 2005.   In spite of all that has been done to rebuild the U.S. territory, many of those who call Puerto Rico home have still not fully recovered psychologically or emotionally.” – Frank Rodriguez, Jr. FaceCuba contributor

The event will be held in the Graham Center at Florida International University  at 7:30 pm in room GC355
