Eduardo Zayas-Bazán landed in Cuba ahead of the main force of the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Wounded in the knee he was eventually re-treated in the U.S. becoming Professor Emeritus at East Tennessee State University presiding several organizations such as the American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese & the National Association of Cuban-American Educators, earning numerous awards along the way. His best-selling textbooks ¡Arriba! & Conexiones are used in over 150 colleges in the U.S. & Canada.
