Carlos Ripoll Ph.D. (1922-2011), Professor at Queen’s College, CUNY, worked well into his 80s to shed light on José Martí’s work & philosophy. His papers are housed at the University of Miami’s Cuban Heritage Collection where he endowed the José Martí Scholarship. Ripoll vanquished Cuba’s Centro de Estudios Martianos, with its cadres of pseudo-intellectuals dedicated to mixing Marx with Martí.
